Orchids at Kew Gardens
Celebrate the colour of Colombia
9 February - 10 March 2019

Our 24th annual orchid festival celebrates the culture and colour of Colombia, one of the world's most biodiverse countries. Escape the cold and step inside the Princess of Wales Conservatory for a floral extravaganza like no other.

With a surprise around every corner, you'll spot hundreds of colourful butterflies suspended from the glass ceiling and a floating golden display to honour the legend of El Dorado.

Kew Gardens is London's largest UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the most diverse collection of living plants anywhere in the world. Just 30 minutes by train from central London, it offers a unique day out for visitors of all ages.

Discover glorious glasshouses containing plants from around the globe, stroll along a soaring treetop walkway high in the tree canopy or step back in time to Georgian times in Kew Palace and the Royal Kitchens. From May 5th onwards, the doors of Kew's spectacular Temperate House will open, revealing 10,000 breath‐taking plants, making this magnificent structure the true jewel in it’s crown – an architectural wonder, horticulturists’ haven, the most captivating of classrooms. The Great Broad Walk borders provide a dazzling display of colour in the summer months and The Hive is a stunning example of how art can educate - highlighting the vital role that bees play in pollinating the world's crop species.
